What is it:

The Horiba ABX Pentra ISE Reference Solution is a genuine HORIBA system reagent for the ABX Pentra 400 / Pentra C400 clinical chemistry analyzer's Ion-Selective Electrode (ISE) module. Available in two bottle sizes — choose your size at checkout (one size per order). For professional in vitro diagnostic use.

Part numbers (choose your size):

  • 100 mL — P/N 1220001719
  • 280 mL — P/N 1220001901 (Box REF A11A01901)

What it's used for:

The ISE Reference Solution provides the stable electrolyte environment that bathes the reference electrode, giving the ISE module a fixed baseline potential to measure against. The module determines Sodium, Potassium, and Chloride by potentiometry — it reads the voltage between the reference electrode (flowed by this reference solution) and each ion-selective electrode (flowed by sample). Without a consistent reference solution, the module can't hold an accurate baseline, and electrolyte results drift. Because the ISE module runs continuously in most labs, this is a routinely consumed reagent — the two sizes let you match your volume to your throughput.

What's included:

  • 1 × ABX Pentra ISE Reference Solution (one size per order — select 100 mL or 280 mL)
  • 100 mL: P/N 1220001719 · 280 mL: P/N 1220001901 (REF A11A01901)
  • ISE system reagent, ready-to-use
  • For professional in vitro diagnostic (IVD) use only
  • Manufactured by HORIBA ABX SAS, France

Compatible analyzer:

  • ABX Pentra 400 (Pentra C400) Clinical Chemistry Analyzer (ISE module)

This is the ISE Reference Solution — a system reagent that bathes the reference electrode. It is not an ISE Standard solution (separate product for calibration) or a QC control. Order the bottle size that matches your throughput. Not for use with non-HORIBA instruments.

Storage & shipping note:

⚠️ CONFIRM STORAGE FROM LABEL — check the bottle's thermometer icon. If room temperature → "Store at room temperature; ships from our U.S. distribution network — contact us for current lead time." If 2–8°C → "Store refrigerated; ships cold-chain with priority handling." Non-returnable once shipped.

FAQs:

What is the Horiba ABX Pentra ISE Reference Solution used for?

It's the system reagent that bathes the reference electrode in the Pentra 400 / C400 ISE module, giving the module a stable baseline to measure Sodium, Potassium, and Chloride against. Every electrolyte result depends on it.

Which analyzer is this compatible with?

The HORIBA ABX Pentra 400 / Pentra C400 clinical chemistry analyzer, specifically its ISE (Ion-Selective Electrode) module.

Which size should I order — 100 mL or 280 mL?

Match the bottle to your throughput: the 100 mL (P/N 1220001719) suits lower-volume labs or backup stock, the 280 mL (P/N 1220001901) suits higher-volume routine use. One size ships per order — select your choice at checkout.

Is this the same as ISE Cleaner or ISE Standard?

No — they're different ISE consumables. The Reference Solution provides the baseline for the reference electrode; ISE Cleaner (P/N 1220001971) cleans the electrodes; ISE Standard solutions are used for calibration. If you're unsure which you need, send us your situation and we'll point you to the right product.

Does it need refrigeration?

Storage is listed on the bottle label — follow the temperature shown there. Contact us with any handling questions.

What's the difference between the box REF and the catalog number?

The bottle label shows a REF (A11A01901 for the 280 mL); distributors order by the catalog P/N. They're the same product — we list both so you find this page from either number.
