What is it:

The Horiba ABX Pentra Bilirubin, Direct CP (P/N 1220001635, REF A11A01635) is a genuine HORIBA reagent for measuring direct (conjugated) bilirubin on the ABX Pentra 400 / Pentra C400 clinical chemistry analyzer. It uses a photometric diazo (DCA) method and is supplied as a ready-to-use bi-reagent cassette (Reagent 1: 24 mL · Reagent 2: 7 mL), good for approximately 100 tests. For professional in vitro diagnostic use.

Part numbers:

  • Catalog P/N: 1220001635
  • Box REF: A11A01635

What it's used for:

Bilirubin, Direct CP measures direct (conjugated) bilirubin in serum and plasma — used alongside total bilirubin to evaluate liver and biliary function and to help distinguish the causes of jaundice and hyperbilirubinemia. The conjugated (direct) fraction is especially useful in differentiating obstructive/hepatocellular from hemolytic causes of elevated bilirubin. The assay uses a photometric diazo method: the conjugated bilirubin reacts with 2,4-dichloroaniline (DCA) to form a colored diazo dye the analyzer measures, proportional to the direct bilirubin concentration. As a routine liver-panel test, this is a regularly reordered reagent, used together with the appropriate calibrator and controls.

What's included:

  • 1 × ABX Pentra Bilirubin, Direct CP bi-reagent cassette
  • Reagent 1: 24 mL · Reagent 2: 7 mL
  • Approximately 100 tests per cassette
  • Manufactured by HORIBA ABX SAS

Compatible analyzer:

  • ABX Pentra 400 (Pentra C400) Clinical Chemistry Analyzer

This is the DIRECT (conjugated) bilirubin reagent for the Pentra 400 / C400. It is distinct from ABX Pentra Bilirubin, Total CP (P/N 1220001639), which measures total bilirubin — confirm you're ordering direct vs. total for your assay. It's also distinct from the calibrator and controls. Not for use with non-HORIBA instruments.

Storage & shipping note:

Store refrigerated (2–8°C). Ships cold-chain with priority handling. Non-returnable once shipped.

FAQs:

What is the Horiba ABX Pentra Bilirubin, Direct CP used for?

It's the reagent that measures direct (conjugated) bilirubin on the Pentra 400 / C400 using a photometric diazo (DCA) method. Direct bilirubin is used with total bilirubin to evaluate liver and biliary function and to help classify the cause of jaundice.

What's the difference between direct and total bilirubin?

Direct bilirubin measures only the conjugated fraction; total bilirubin measures all bilirubin in the sample. They're separate reagents — this is the DIRECT bilirubin reagent (P/N 1220001635). HORIBA offers a separate Bilirubin, Total CP reagent (P/N 1220001639). Order the one your assay requires.

Which analyzer is P/N 1220001635 compatible with?

The HORIBA ABX Pentra 400 / Pentra C400 clinical chemistry analyzer.

How many tests does one cassette provide?

Approximately 100 tests. Actual yield depends on your calibration and QC frequency.

What method does it use?

A photometric diazo method — conjugated bilirubin reacts with 2,4-dichloroaniline (DCA) to form a colored diazo dye measured by the analyzer in proportion to the direct bilirubin concentration.

Does it need refrigeration?

Yes. Store refrigerated at 2–8°C, and the product ships with cold-chain handling.

What's the difference between the box REF and the catalog number?

The box shows REF A11A01635; distributors order it as P/N 1220001635. They're the same product — we list both so you find this page from either number.
